Original MJ The Musical lead Myles Frost will star in the West End premiere

Having originated the role of Michael Jackson in the Broadway musical MJ, winning a Tony Award for his performance, Myles Frost will lead the West End premiere production at the Prince Edward Theatre from 6 March 2024 (opening night is 27 March).

The actor joins the internationally renowned creative team helmed by two-time Pulitzer Prize-winning writer Lynn Nottage and two-time Tony Award-winning director/choreographer and Royal Ballet associate artist Christopher Wheeldon.

Frost said: ‘Working with Chris has always been amazing. He is a visionary and knowing that we’re now going into his stomping ground, I’m ready for that ride! I’m super excited to bring this show to the West End and to make this a magical experience for everybody.’

Christopher Wheeldon added: ‘I am naturally thrilled to have Myles opening the London company with his knockout award-winning performance. Myles embodies the artistic spirit of MJ but allows his own glorious talent to shine through his portrayal. Working closely with Myles to achieve this is in part what has made this show such a success on Broadway.’

The multiple Tony Award-winning new musical MJ centres around the making of Michael Jackson’s 1992 Dangerous World tour, ‘offering a rare look at the creative mind and collaborative spirit that catapulted Jackson to legendary status’. Iconic songs featured include ‘Billie Jean’, ‘Beat It’, ‘Man in the Mirror’, ‘Thriller’ and ‘Smooth Criminal’.

In 2022 Frost became the youngest individual actor to ever win the Tony Award for Best Leading Actor in a Musical. Hailing from Washington DC, he is a self-trained pianist, singer, songwriter, dancer, actor and music producer.
