Georgina Castle and Charlie Burn head up the Savoy Theatre show opening this summer
‘My name is Georgina Castle’ – or should that be ‘My name is Regina George’?
Castle (Dirty Dancing, Elf) has been announced as the charming but ruthless head of The Plastics, whose reign at North Shore High is scuppered by newbie Cady, to be played in the new West End production by Charlie Burn (Les Mis). The hit Broadway musical comedy, by Tina Fey, Jeff Richmond, Nell Benjamin and Casey Nicholaw, makes its London premiere at the Savoy Theatre this summer. Booking has already been extended until 16 February 2025.
Castle is joined by fellow Plastics, Karen (Grace Mouat, Before After) and Gretchen (Elèna Gyasi, SIX UK tour). Elena Skye (Les Mis, Kinky Boots) and Tom Xander (The Book of Mormon) play best friends Janis and Damian, while Daniel Bravo (Cruel Intentions) is Aaron, Regina’s ex and one of the hottest and most popular guys at North Shore High.
Ako Mitchell (The Sound of Music, Chichester) has been announced as School Principal Mr Duvall, and Zoë Rainey (An American in Paris, Made in Dagenham is Ms Norbury – the role originated by creator Fey in the 2004 movie.
With a top-notch creative team including designer Scott Pask and videographers Finn Ross and Adam Young, the show – produced by Lorne Michaels, Sonia Friedman Productions and David Ian for Crossroads Live – is surely going to make fetch happen!
