Sondheim's Old Friends set to open on Broadway in Spring 2025

Bernadette Peters and Lea Salonga will return to star in the composer/lyricist’s tribute concert at the Samuel J Friedman Theatre

The widely acclaimed Stephen Sondheim's Old Friends is set to transfer to Broadway after its successful West End run at the Gielgud Theatre.

Following a run from 8 February to 9 March at the Ahmanson Theatre in Los Angeles, the Manhattan Theatre Club will present the Sondheim tribute concert at the Samuel J Friedman Theatre in New York on 25 March 2025 

Bernadette Peters and Lea Salonga will return to star in the American transfer with further casting to be announced. 

After a popular one-night concert in 2022 (selling out both the Gielgud Theatre and the Prince Edward Theatre where it was live-streamed), Cameron Mackintosh, who devised the show, announced it would return to the Gielgud for a 16-week run in 2023/2024.

Sondheim's Old Friends is set to open at the Samuel J Friedman Theatre, Broadway on 25 March 2025.
